Description

Samurai vs Yakuza is a beat ’em up with a clean premise. The yakuza have taken hidden treasures and ruins, you are the samurai sent to take them back, and everything between those two facts is a fight.

The moveset is small and readable: move, jump, attack, defend. What gives a fight shape is the defend key, because the enemies here are happy to trade hits and trading is how you lose — blocking, then answering, beats attacking constantly.

Weapons come out of crates rather than from a menu, so what you fight with is partly luck. A sword changes your reach, something heavier changes your timing, and losing a weapon mid-level means adapting rather than restarting.

Locations change as you push on, which keeps the run from settling into one backdrop. This one is keyboard-only, so it wants a computer rather than a phone.
