Bid Wars is built on one honest piece of tension: you bid on storage units before you know what is inside them. What you can see from the doorway is all you get.

Winning is therefore the easy part. Anyone can outbid the room; the skill is deciding what a unit is plausibly worth and then stopping there while someone else keeps going.

Value comes out afterwards, when the contents get sorted and sold. Antiques and the occasional rarity carry the profit, and an ordinary unit bought at an excited price is how a good run turns flat.

The auctions climb from small street sales to proper halls, and the bigger rooms bring bidders with deeper pockets. That is the pressure the whole game runs on: the better the lot, the more it costs to be wrong about it.
