African Princesses: Style Island

African Princesses: Style Island opens on a beach at sunset, with palms leaning over a carved wooden sign inlaid with cowrie shells. The princess on the title screen wears a crown of braids and a black and yellow print outfit.

First, you choose who to style from a gallery of portraits in heavy gold frames topped with sun masks. Each face has different traditional paint, and seven page dots underneath show there are plenty to work through.

The styling room is a decorated bedroom in purple and orange, with carved lanterns, a draped bed, potted plants and a tall mirror. The princess stands on the right and changes with each choice you make.

A framed panel on the left shows one category at a time, starting with makeup: an eyeshadow palette, a lipstick, a brush and a compact. Orange arrows move through the categories, and a round tick locks your choice in.
