Description

Chroma Tower inverts the usual block puzzle. The tower is already standing when the level begins, and your job is to take it apart by dropping colored blocks onto it from above.

A block landing on its own color removes the whole connected chain, so the size of a clear depends entirely on where you drop rather than what you were given. One well-aimed block can take out a section; the same block dropped a column over does almost nothing.

What is left settles afterward, which is where the good moves come from. Blocks that fall into new positions can match with what is now beneath them and set off a second clear without another drop. Reading how the tower will collapse before you release is the skill the later levels assume.

Colors get mixed together more tightly as you progress, and clearing one can isolate blocks you now cannot reach. There is no timer, so studying the tower costs nothing — which is a good thing, since the levels that look impossible usually just need one specific drop found first.
