Ninja Warrior Shadow of Last Samurai

Ninja Warrior puts a ninja on a side-scrolling path running along the foot of a volcano. The background burns red, the floor is stone, and the level name sits plainly across the top: World 1-1.

Yellow stars line the route and the counter for them sits in the top left corner. Some of them hang where an extra jump is needed, so taking every one means taking a risk you were allowed to skip.

Shuriken come in a limited supply, counted in the top right. They do not replenish on their own, so throwing one at the first enemy you pass is usually a decision you regret a few screens later. The fires burning on the ground and the small spikes on the stone floor cannot be thrown at all. Both can only be jumped.

Your health is a row of hearts across the top, and it drops each time something touches you. Fruit can be picked up along the way as well. The controls are two direction buttons on the left and right, plus one action button.
