Description

GT Traffic Racer drops you onto an open highway with ordinary traffic ahead and nothing between you and it. Points come from distance and from how fast you cover it, so hanging back behind a slow lorry is safe and gets you nowhere. The whole game lives in that trade.

Three highways run through different landscapes, and each one changes what you can see coming. A straight open road lets you plan several overtakes ahead, while bends and rises hide the traffic until you are already committed to a lane. The car does not slow down to help you look.

Nitro is a refilling resource rather than a one-off boost, which makes it a question of timing instead of hoarding. Firing it into a clear stretch buys distance cheaply; firing it into a crowded lane means arriving at the gap before the gap has finished opening. The two look identical right up to the moment you press the button.

The six cars handle differently, and the upgrades sharpen those differences rather than smoothing them out. A faster car reaches the traffic sooner, so the lane change you were comfortable making at one speed becomes tight at the next. Three game modes give the same driving a different frame each time.
