Detective Ava: Logic Files

Detective Ava: Logic Files opens in an office at night: an evidence board strung with red thread, Polaroids, a desk lamp, a typewriter, and a city glowing behind the window. Its own strapline sets the tone: every clue has a logic and every case has a truth.

A case gives you four silhouetted suspects by name, along with a numbered list of clues on the notepad beside them. The first asks who took the ruby necklace, and tells you the culprit was a man, was not wearing glasses, and, unlike Celine, wore no hat or cap.

Under each suspect are a tick and a cross. The objective panel spells it out: mark suspects as possible or not possible. The training card is firmer still: every clue is true of the culprit, so combine them and eliminate suspects without guessing.

Three hearts sit in the corner, and a wrong deduction breaks one. Lose all three and the case is over. Three hints wait behind a lamp button in the opposite corner, and the case grid runs six across and five down over three pages.
