Sneaker Art hands you a plain shoe and a set of tools. You paint it, choose the laces, and the result is yours rather than a pattern you were asked to copy. There is no wrong answer at this stage, which is unusual and is most of the appeal.

The shop is what stops it being only a colouring game. Finished sneakers are boxed, displayed and sold, and the money funds the next round of materials. Your design decisions and your business decisions end up connected without the game ever making it a chore.

Because the tools are simple, the interesting part is restraint. A shoe with every colour on it looks worse than one with three, and the designs that hold up are usually the ones where you stopped a little earlier than you wanted to.
