Description

Car Mechanic Simulator hands you a workshop and a supply of cars that nobody else wanted. The job is the whole job: take the thing apart to the last screw, work out what is broken, replace it, and put it back together in the right order.

Disassembly is where most of the time goes, and it is deliberately unglamorous. Panels come off before the engine does, and an engine you have not lifted out is an engine you cannot inspect. The game does not tell you what is wrong until you have got far enough in to see it.

Parts are the constraint. Some are cheap and stocked, some are rare and have to be hunted down, and a restoration can stall on one component while the rest of the car sits finished around it. Deciding whether to wait for the correct part or fit something adequate is a real choice.

Paint is the last step and the one that changes how the work looks. A car you have rebuilt correctly still reads as a wreck until it is sprayed, which is why the game saves it for the end. Walking around a finished car is the reward the whole loop is built towards.
