Description

Anomaly Content Record sends you into a restricted research facility that stopped answering overnight. You are the field investigator, and the assignment is to find out why.

Most of the game is searching. Laboratories, offices and storage rooms hold documents, recordings and small physical details that gradually explain what was being worked on here — and the explanation is worse the further you get into it.

Progress is gated by puzzles built into the building itself: a door that needs a code written down somewhere else, a mechanism that has to be worked out before a corridor opens. Solving them under the pressure of not being alone is the difference between this and a quiet escape room.

The horror is atmospheric rather than sudden. Sound, lighting and the layout do the work, and the tension comes from how thoroughly you are willing to search a room when staying in it feels like a bad idea. Investigating carefully and surviving pull against each other, and that tension is the game.
