Description

Frog Fights with Buddies is a party game that fits on one screen. Frogs hop between lily pads, eat bugs for points, and shove each other into the water. First to fifteen wins.

The pond is small, which is the entire design. There is no hiding place and no safe corner, and the bug you want is almost always the bug someone else is also jumping towards. Contests happen because the space forces them, not because the game tells you to fight.

Getting knocked in is a delay rather than a defeat, which keeps everyone in the game to the end. It also means a player in the lead is worth pushing repeatedly, and the frog one bug away from fifteen is the one everybody is watching.

The art is soft and the theme is friendly, so it works with children in a way most fighting games do not. It is a short game by design, and the right number of rounds is always one more than you agreed on.
