Nuwpy’s Adventure is a platformer in the oldest sense: a small character, a level with a way through it, and enemies that only need to touch you once. There is no story and no upgrade tree, and it is better for their absence.

The levels are built around reading rather than reflexes. Almost every hazard is visible before it matters, and a death is nearly always the result of moving before you looked. Slowing down for one second is the advice the game keeps giving without saying it.

Coins mark the routes the designer wanted you to try, which is the oldest trick in the genre and still the best one. A row of coins over a gap is an instruction; a coin tucked behind a wall is a suggestion that the wall is not solid.

Secrets are hidden in most levels and are worth finding rather than mandatory. The whole thing is short, honest and unfashionable, and it plays exactly the way something with this art style should.
