X to Y: Almost Impossible!
Description
X to Y is exactly what it says. There is an X, there is a Y, and between them is a room built to stop you. What lifts it above a reflex test is that your speed is something you set rather than something the game decides for you.
Two modifiers change everything. Shift makes X move fast, Space makes it crawl, and most gaps are passable at exactly one of the three speeds. Reading which one a section wants — and switching mid-run — is the actual skill, and it is a rarer one than pure timing.
Stars push you past merely finishing. Up to three a level, and the third usually asks for a route you would never take if survival were the only goal. Those stars unlock new worlds, including dark stages and levels where X moves on its own and you only steer.
Failure is instant and so is the restart, which is what a game this tight has to offer. It plays on the keyboard, with a mouse drag, or with a finger, and all three feel the same once you find the speed.
