Car Eats Car 3D

Car Eats Car 3D looks down on a small town from above and gives you a red sports car to drive through it. The roads wind between houses, shops and trees, with red crystals scattered out in the open along the way. A counter floats above the bonnet and climbs as you pick them up.

The controls are as simple as they get. W, A, S and D steer, and the arrow keys do the same job if you prefer them. The game tells you so on the first screen, then waits a few seconds before giving you the other half: Space throws a bomb.

Bombs matter because the other cars are not just scenery. A rival pulls onto the road with a green health bar above it, so an opponent is something you can wear down rather than simply avoid. The town is open enough to pick your moment instead of taking every fight head-on.

Purple discs scattered along the route top you up as you go. The first load takes a while, since the whole town has to come in before anything moves, but after that the game stays on one screen with no menus getting between you and the driving.
