Cozy Kitchen Merge runs on one rule: put two identical things together and they become the next thing along. A pair of plain vegetables turns into something prepared, that pairs into a dish, and the chain keeps going until you reach recipes worth serving.

Orders are what stop this from being idle stacking. A customer asks for a specific dish, and filling that order means working a particular chain rather than merging whatever happens to be nearest. Coins only come from orders, so the board should be shaped around what people are actually asking for.

Space is the constraint everything else runs into. Every item sits somewhere, and a board full of half-finished chains leaves you with nowhere to put the next delivery. Merging early keeps room free; merging too early wastes items you needed further down a different line.

Coins go back into the kitchen, both upgrades and decoration, and the room changes noticeably as you go. The pace is slow and untimed throughout, which is the point — this is a game for playing in short visits rather than long sessions.
