Drop Animals looks like a menagerie and behaves like a colour puzzle. Blocks fall into the board, matching colours merge into a larger animal, and the artwork is friendly enough that it is easy to forget you are really sorting shades.

Chains are where the scores come from. One merge drops whatever sat above it, and if that lands on its own colour the board keeps clearing without another move from you. Setting those up deliberately is the difference between a small score and a large one.

Because the board fills from the bottom, the mistake that ends most runs is dropping a colour with no partner anywhere near it. A single stranded block splits the board in two, and everything after that has to work around it.

Levels introduce new colours gradually rather than all at once, which keeps the reading manageable while steadily shrinking the odds that the next block has an easy home. Nothing is timed, so the only pressure comes from the space you have used.
