Description

Idle Drive starts you with a car that barely deserves the name and a screen you can tap for money. Everything after that is parts: engines, tyres, bodywork, each bought at a low level and each capable of becoming something better.

Merging is the upgrade path. Two parts of the same level combine into one part of the next, so the question is never whether to buy a part but how many of the cheap ones to buy before you start combining them. Buying one expensive component is usually worse than buying four cheap ones and folding them together.

Because the car earns while you are away, the game rewards leaving and coming back. A session is a few minutes of merging what accumulated, then setting the next thing running. It is built for short visits rather than long ones.

The garage is where the parts become a vehicle rather than a list of numbers. Watching a hatchback that started on bicycle tyres turn into something that actually moves is the whole reward loop, and the game is honest about that being enough.
