Gold Miner is the arcade game most people already know. A hook swings back and forth above the ground, you drop it, and whatever it catches gets pulled back up — slowly, if it is heavy.

That weight rule is the whole game. A large gold nugget is worth a great deal and takes so long to retrieve that it can cost you the rest of the level. A small diamond is quick and pays well. Deciding what to go for with the time remaining is the actual skill, not the aiming.

Rocks are the trap. They are heavy, worth almost nothing, and sit exactly where a careless drop will find them. Rats wander through and can be caught by accident too, which is usually worse than catching nothing.

Between levels the shop sells the tools that change your options: dynamite to blow a rock off the hook, energy drinks to pull faster, and lucky clovers. Each level raises the money target, so the tools stop being optional fairly quickly.
