Tales of Lagoona is a hidden object game with a reason to keep searching. Islabelle the mermaid is rebuilding the New Anemone Orphanage in Coral Bay, and everything you find in the scenes goes toward that.

Scenes are detailed enough to be a real search without being unfair. Objects are hidden by clutter and color rather than by being drawn too small to see, and the list at the bottom gives you a target instead of leaving you to sweep the screen at random.

The market is what connects the searching to the story. Treasures you recover are sold for resources, and resources pay for upgrades to the orphanage — so a scene picked clean is measurable progress rather than a completed checklist.

Rooms differ enough to keep the searching from blurring together: sleeping quarters, kitchens, dining areas, attics and porches, each with its own clutter. Around 160 mini-games break up the pattern, and a hint system points you toward a stubborn object without solving the scene for you. Nothing is timed.
