Two teams, red and blue, put their cars into the same arena and fight it out. You drive one of them, and the result on the board is the team total rather than your own, which changes what a good run is worth.

Cars are built out of three competing numbers: speed, durability and acceleration. A fast car reaches a fight first and loses it if it cannot take a hit; a durable one survives everything and arrives after the exchange is over. Acceleration is the one people undervalue, because an arena is mostly restarts from a standstill.

The handbrake on the space bar is a weapon rather than a brake. Drifting turns the car in less room than steering does, and in a space where everyone is trying to hit everyone else, turning inside somebody is how you end up behind them instead of in front.

R restores your position when the car ends up somewhere it cannot drive out of, which happens more than you would expect. Items and upgrades accumulate between rounds, and the leaderboard is what the whole thing is played for.
