Description

Human Leap Evolution runs a fighter along a chain of forms, from a caveman with a club to something considerably later, and each jump you make picks which form comes next.

The choices matter because the forms are not simply stronger. A later form hits harder and is slower, or reaches further and takes more damage, and the enemy ahead of you decides which of those you actually wanted. Evolving greedily gets you a powerful body in the wrong fight.

Combat is quick and mostly automatic once the form is chosen, which puts the weight on the decision rather than the execution. That is unusual for the genre and is the reason the game holds up past the first few minutes.

The chain is long enough that a single run does not reach the end, and the forms near the top are far enough from the caveman to be worth chasing. It is a short game with one good idea, played straight.
