Description

You move along a track and the warriors you free join in behind you. Nothing about the level is fought individually: the size of the group you arrive with is what decides the fight at the end, so the run is really a collection exercise with a boss attached.

Obstacles on the way exist to thin the crowd rather than to stop you. Walking a group through the wrong gate or the wrong side of a saw costs you people, and losing them quietly is much easier than noticing at the time. The safest line and the shortest line are rarely the same.

At the end of each episode a monster is waiting, and it is simply larger than any one warrior. Whether the fight is won was decided several sections earlier, when you chose which cages to detour to and which obstacles to take the long way around.

There are more than fifty levels and each is short, so the loop is quick: run, gather, lose some, fight. Steering is the mouse, WASD or the arrow keys, and no other input exists, which keeps all the attention on where the group is going.
