Description

Spa Empire runs a service business, which is a different problem from a shop. You are not selling objects; you are selling stations that take time, and a customer occupying a chair is one you cannot serve twice.

The work itself is hands-on. Hair colouring, makeovers and treatments each have their own small task, and doing them yourself is how the early money is made. Later the game expects you to stop doing them and start buying the capacity to have them done, which is the moment an idle game becomes a management game.

Layout matters more than in most business sims. A treatment station placed far from the entrance leaves customers walking rather than paying, and expanding into a new room is worth nothing until there are enough guests to fill it. Growing in the wrong order is the usual way to stall.

It is calm rather than frantic, with no failure state and progress that continues without you. The satisfaction is watching a single chair in an empty room become somewhere with a queue outside it.
