Fall Aesthetics

Fall Aesthetics opens on a phone rather than in a wardrobe. A group chat fills up one message at a time, and each friend says where she is spending the season: New York, Japan, Scotland. The icons along the bottom of the phone — a train, a map, a suitcase and a plane — set the tone before a single outfit appears.

That framing is the point of the game. Dressing someone for a Tokyo autumn is not the same as dressing her for a Scottish one, so the destination does the job a difficulty setting would do elsewhere. You are matching clothes to a place, not just to a mood board.

The presentation leans heavily into the season. Everything sits on a wooden table scattered with pumpkins, maple leaves and a camera, and the title screen is a pile of Polaroids rather than a menu. Those photos are the reward the game keeps pointing towards.

Nothing runs on a timer and nothing is scored, so the pace is entirely up to you. A purple tick moves things along when you are ready, which keeps the chat and styling from running into each other.
