Description

Witchy’s Puzzle Adventures gives every level the same goal and a different obstacle course between you and it: reach the cat. The forest is full of walls, traps and things that will not move on their own, and the witch has no magic until she picks some up.

Cards are the mechanic. They lie around the level, they do one thing each, and the witch collects one by walking into it. That means the order you move in is the order you get your abilities in, and a card taken too early can leave you on the wrong side of a wall you now cannot open.

Later levels bring in things that can be redirected rather than removed. A laser cannon can be turned, which changes what it destroys, and several rooms are solved by aiming a hazard at the wall that is in your way rather than by avoiding it.

The art is soft and the pace is slow, and the puzzles are real. It is one of the few games here where the cute presentation is not a warning that the thinking has been left out.
