Bug Burrow Wars

Bug Burrow Wars splits the board into lanes, each one guarded by a gate at either end. You win by breaking an enemy gate, pushing through the opening and reaching the heart behind it. Lose your own heart and the match ends, so every lane is both a way out and a way in.

Bugs are deployed rather than controlled directly. You pick one from the trays along the bottom, tap the glowing gate of the lane you want it to leave from, and it crawls out and charges on its own. When two bugs meet, they fight without any input, and the stronger one keeps going with whatever health it has left.

The gates are what make this more than a numbers game. A destroyed gate can no longer send bugs out, and that rule applies equally to both sides, so smashing one closes that lane for its owner permanently. Anything slipping through a broken gate ignores the fighting and runs straight at the heart, which means pouring more bugs through an opening you have already made ends a match fast.

Coins from kills unlock new bugs in the shop, and three boosts sit in the top corner for the moments that need them. Freeze holds the enemy still for eighteen seconds, Rage doubles your damage for the same amount of time, and Repair restores a fifth of the health of your gates and heart. All three cost coins, which makes saving them for a boss wave a real decision.
