Description

Merge Magnat hands you a plot of commercial land and a set of small shops to arrange on it. Merging two of the same shop produces the next tier up, which pays considerably more, so growth genuinely comes from combining rather than from simply buying more.

Customers walk across your district and leave money at the shops they pass. Position therefore matters as much as tier: an expensive shop on a quiet route earns less than a modest one standing where the crowd actually walks.

The land is limited and never quite enough, so every square holding a low-tier shop is a square not working properly. Merging early frees space, while putting it off fills the district with shops that are all equally small.

The pace is unhurried and nothing can fail, which makes this comfortable to leave and return to. Money keeps arriving while customers are still walking, and what waits for you on your return is a decision rather than a mess.
