Description

2048 Defense borrows the merging rule and points it at a castle wall. You buy towers, you place them, and dragging one onto an identical one combines them into a stronger version. Everything else works the way tower defense normally does.

The merging changes what a purchase means. Buying a second cheap tower is not only coverage; it is half of a better tower, and a player who buys in pairs progresses faster than one who buys the strongest thing available. That is a genuinely different opening from the rest of the genre.

Tower types stay meaningful through the merges. Red explosive projectiles handle groups and blue freezing ones handle anything fast, and a merged tower keeps the behaviour of what went into it, so combining across types is not the shortcut it looks like.

Levels are varied rather than escalating on one axis, and the later unlocks add abilities rather than numbers. It is a small idea executed cleanly, and it makes the spending decision more interesting than it usually is.
