Before anyone had a console, children played football on a table with buttons or bottle caps. World Cup Soccer Caps is that game, drawn properly and given a tournament to sit inside.

A cap is flicked rather than driven, so the whole game is about power and angle chosen at once. Pull back further and the cap travels further and lands less precisely, and the shot that scores is almost never the hardest one available.

Because your caps stay where you leave them, position accumulates across a match. A cap parked near the goal is a threat for the rest of the half, and a defence that has drifted forward cannot be recalled. Thinking about where a cap will end up matters more than whether this shot goes in.

Two players can share a device, and that is where it belongs. The rules are learned in one turn, the arguments are about millimetres, and a match takes about as long as it should.
