Description

Fruitsland sets a horror escape inside an amusement park, which is a better idea than it sounds. Everything is lit, painted and cheerful, and that is exactly what makes the thing moving between the rides difficult to look at.

You cannot fight. The tools are movement and patience: crouch to stay low, use the rides and stalls as cover, and wait out a patrol rather than trying to outrun it. Being seen does not end the game immediately, but it moves everything against you.

Between the hiding is a straightforward adventure structure. Items are scattered around the park, clues explain which lock they belong to, and progress means carrying the right thing to the right place while something else is deciding where to walk.

The park is large enough to get lost in and consistent enough to learn. By the last third you are moving through it deliberately rather than nervously, and the game shifts from frightening to tense, which is the better of the two.
