Description

Reversi is played on an eight by eight board with discs that are black on one side and white on the other. Trapping a line of your opponent between two of your own discs flips the whole line, and the player with more discs at the end wins.

The trap in the rules is that a large lead early is often a weakness. Every disc you own is a disc that can be flipped back, so a board where you hold most of the squares usually means you also have the most to lose.

Corners are the exception and they decide most games. A disc in a corner can never be flanked, which makes it permanent, and the squares next to a corner are dangerous precisely because playing there hands the corner over.

Three ways to play are included: against other people online, against the computer, and against somebody sitting next to you on the same device. The rules are simple enough to learn in a minute and deep enough that the first ten games will not be close.
