Brick Breaker Blitz

Brick Breaker Blitz keeps its screen almost empty. There is a near-black blue backdrop, a board outlined in a thin blue line, and no decoration at all. The title screen runs a demo of stage thirteen by itself while you decide.

Its controls are printed under that demo: left and right to aim, OK or Space to shoot, Escape to pause. On the board itself, the instruction is simpler still: drag to aim and release to shoot.

The blocks carry numbers showing how many hits each one still needs, and red balls are scattered among them to add to your supply. A seven-digit score sits across the top of the screen.

Side panels show the stage, the level, your best, a combo counter and the ball count. One shot broke a block for ten points, set the combo to one and dropped the ball count from twelve to eleven, so everything you launch is accounted for.
