Hopnova

Hopnova is a vertical jumper built around one steady idea: keep climbing, do not fall. You guide a tiny cartoon explorer up an endless stack of floating platforms, bouncing automatically with each landing while you handle the left-right steering. The camera slides up with you as new platforms appear above, so the only real direction the game wants is more height. Miss a platform and you tumble back through the ones you cleared, which is usually how runs end.

The hook is in how the platforms keep shifting on you. Some sit perfectly still and act as reliable steps. Others drift sideways, so you have to time the hop instead of just aiming. A few fall apart the moment you land on them, turning them into one-shot stepping stones you cannot revisit. Stacked together, those three behaviors are enough to make every climb feel a bit different even though the camera and the controls never change. Reading the next two or three platforms before you commit to a jump is where the skill actually lives.

Power-ups are the other thing that keeps a run alive. Spring shoes fling you way past the next platform, rockets blast you straight up through a chunk of the screen, and pickups along the way push your altitude faster than careful jumps would. Hazards work the other direction — spikes, moving traps, and gaps that look smaller than they are. Catching a clean power-up at the right moment turns a so-so run into a record attempt, and missing one tends to leave you mashing the restart button to try the same gap again.

The whole loop is built for quick sessions. The portrait layout fits a phone naturally, the controls reduce to "tap left, tap right" on mobile and the arrow keys on desktop, and one good climb lasts a couple of minutes. The cartoon look is bright and friendly, the soundtrack stays upbeat, and the only real progression metric is the best score you have stamped on the leaderboard so far.
