Duotrace
Description
Duotrace is built on a single rule that sounds like nothing at all. Every line in the shape has to be drawn over exactly twice, in one unbroken stroke, without lifting your finger. The first few shapes fall to guesswork within seconds.
Then the shapes begin folding back on themselves and the rule turns into a real constraint. A line already drawn twice is closed to you, so every stroke you make removes options from the strokes that follow. Wander into a corner with an untraced line stranded behind you and the level is already lost, even though nothing has told you so.
The game therefore rewards looking before drawing. Counting how many lines meet at each node, spotting the junction you can only afford to visit once, choosing where to begin — that planning is the whole puzzle, and the stroke itself is only the confirmation.
The presentation stays out of the way: a dark board, glowing lines, and a small counter on each edge showing how many times it has been drawn. There is a reset for a stroke gone wrong, and a limited number of hints for a shape that refuses to open up.
Game Controls
How to Play:
- Draw: Click or tap the next connected node to extend your line to it
- The rule: Every line must be drawn over exactly twice
- One stroke: The line is never lifted — you always continue from where you are
- Watch the counters: Each edge shows how many times it has been traced
- Reset: Start the current level again from scratch
- Hint: Spend one of your limited hints when a shape will not open up
- Pause: Stop and resume at any time
