Description

Hero Knight is a side-on action RPG that keeps all of its progress in numbers. You fight with a sword and with spells, and every monster you drop feeds experience into attributes you pick yourself.

Potions come with a rule worth learning. Red restores half your health and blue restores half your mana, which means drinking either above the halfway mark throws most of it away. Holding out one more exchange is usually worth more than drinking early.

The strongest attack asks for the same patience. Holding the attack button for about two seconds releases Power Slash, and you are wide open for the entire wind-up, so the decision is always whether the enemy in front of you is worth the risk.

There is a secret boss you will never meet by walking the main route. Beating the firebird turns your knight into the Legendary Fire Knight, and that reward is what makes searching the corners of the map worth the detour.
