A job here has two halves and you do both of them. First the excavator fills the truck, then the truck carries the load across rough ground to the site, and F switches you between the two whenever you need to change roles.

The excavator is the fiddlier machine. It has a driving mode for getting into position and a digging mode for working the bucket, with separate controls for the arm and the tilt, so scooping a load is a sequence of small movements rather than one action.

Once the truck is loaded, the terrain does its best to unload it for you. The routes are deliberately uneven, and a full bed changes what the truck does over a bump, so the drive out is slower than the drive in for a good reason. Space is the handbrake, and it gets used more on a descent than on the flat.

The delivery has to end in a marked spot, and E tips the bed. Getting the truck square with the target before dumping saves a second trip, which is the difference between a job done and a job repeated. Nothing is timed, so accuracy is worth more here than hurry.
