Solitaires Crime Stories
Description
Solitaire Crime Stories wraps card play around an investigation in Springdale, a small American town where everyone seems ordinary until you start looking. Each level you clear moves the case forward, and the cards are how you buy the next piece of it.
The solitaire underneath is straightforward, which is deliberate. You are not being asked to solve two hard things at once, so the layouts stay readable and the difficulty sits in the pacing rather than in any single impossible table.
What the story adds is a reason to keep going that a level counter does not provide. Finishing a table because you want to know who was lying is a different feeling from finishing it because it was next, and the game is built around that difference.
The town, the characters and the locations get more attention than a card game strictly needs, and it pays off in the middle stretch where a purely mechanical solitaire would start to blur. If you like solitaire but stop playing out of boredom, this is the version that keeps you at the table.
