A word appears with some of its letters missing and you type what belongs in the gaps. Thirty seconds runs from the moment it appears, and failing to complete it in time restarts the level rather than moving you past it.

The timer is what makes this a vocabulary test rather than a puzzle. With enough time almost any blank can be forced by trying letters one at a time, but thirty seconds only covers a handful of attempts, so recognising the word from its shape is the only reliable approach.

Which letters are removed matters more than how many. A word missing its vowels is usually still readable; one missing the consonants that carry its sound often is not, and the later levels lean on that difference rather than simply taking more letters away.

There are a hundred levels and finishing all of them is the stated goal. Typing works from the keyboard or by tapping on screen, so it plays the same on a phone as on a computer, and a failed level costs only the thirty seconds you just spent.
