Aktivitas Calistung

Aktivitas Calistung is a learning game for young children, built around the three skills its Indonesian name refers to: reading, writing and counting. It is aimed at roughly ages four and up, and each activity is short enough to finish in one sitting.

Six activities cover the ground. Pre-writing traces waves, zigzags, circles and straight lines on a digital canvas to build fine motor control. Vowels covers A, I, U, E and O, each paired with a picture. Consonants works through syllables such as ba-bi-bu-be. Words and sentences arranges letters into simple words like AYAM, IKAN and BUKU. Counting handles objects from one to eight, and the math activity shows simple addition and subtraction visually.

Progress is tracked with stars, which gives a child a reason to return to an activity rather than stopping after one attempt. Sound effects respond to every interaction, so it works best with audio on.

The design is colorful and deliberately uncluttered, laid out for tablets and phones in landscape. Nothing needs a connection once the game has loaded, and there is no timer or fail state anywhere in it.
