Description

Black Jump has you escaping a wrecked planet, and it tells you that almost entirely through shape. Everything is a dark silhouette against colour, so a trap and a platform are told apart by outline rather than detail.

That readability is what lets it move quickly. The run does not stop, you jump from side to side to keep ahead of what is behind you, and there is rarely time to study anything closely.

Enemies and traps are placed to punish momentum. Charging through a gap that looks open is how most attempts end, while pausing a beat at the right ledge is usually all a section needed.

Crystals gathered along the way buy upgrades between runs. That is what keeps a short attempt from being wasted, since even a run that ends early leaves you slightly better equipped for the next.
