Fishing Dog

Fishing Dog puts an orange dog in a red shirt in a rubber dinghy, with a penguin and a seal watching from a tiny palm island. Under the waterline sits a bar that collects the letters of the word chance.

Four tutorial cards lay out the rules before you start. Tap to switch between moving left and right, aim for the fish's head and reel it in, and if the needle touches the wall, it counts as a miss.

The playing area is a narrow channel of water with rock walls on both sides. The hook swings on its line between them while fish swim past, and the banner at the top keeps repeating the point: one-shot match, go for the rare fish.

Collecting the chance items raises your odds of meeting a rare fish, which is what the letter bar on the title screen is for. The game showed a failed-to-start message on the first attempt and ran perfectly after one reload.
