Description

Solitaire Emperor sets its card play inside the world of the Tarot. Figures from the Arcana — the Hermit, the Knight of Swords and others — appear as you progress, and a dark sorcerer is pulling the magic of the deck apart while you work.

Each level is cleared by playing the field down in the classic descending sequence, Ace to King to Queen to Jack and onwards. The rule is simple to hold in your head, which leaves the difficulty entirely in how the cards have been laid out rather than in remembering what you are allowed to do.

What the story adds is a reason to attempt a level twice. A layout you failed is not just a layout; it is the thing standing between you and the next part of a plot you have started caring about. That is a stronger pull than a progress bar, and the game leans on it deliberately.
