Description

Brave Warriors is a traditional side-scroller with no ambitions beyond being one. You move right, you jump over what is in the way, you hit what will not move, and the valley of devils is however far you have got so far.

The stars are the reason to play it carefully. Finishing a level is not difficult; finishing it having collected every star means going where the level would rather you did not, and that is where the design does its work.

There are only six levels, which is honest for a game this size and turns it into an afternoon rather than a project. Each is dense enough that a first run and a complete run are different experiences.

The art is bright and readable, with hazards that announce themselves clearly — the difficulty is in the routing rather than in spotting what will hurt you. Arrow keys move, X attacks, and there is nothing else to hold.
