Math Block is a sliding puzzle where the tiles are numbers and operators. A target value sits above the grid, and your job is to push the pieces around until a row of them forms an equation that reaches it.

The sliding is what makes it a puzzle rather than a sum. Getting the right digits is usually easy; getting them into the same line, in the right order, with the operator between them, is the part that takes thought. A block in the way is a block you have to move somewhere it will not cause the same problem again.

All four operations appear, and the later levels mix them so that the order of the pieces changes the answer. That teaches something arithmetic drills usually do not: that an equation is a shape as much as a calculation.

Five hundred levels sounds like a lot and is paced accordingly. The early ones are minutes apart, and the difficulty rises gently enough that a child and an adult can both find a wall at their own level.
