Description

Quack is a duck making his way through a magical forest, and something much larger and purple is following him. The forest is worth looking at — there are secrets tucked into it — but stopping to look is exactly what the monster is counting on.

Movement is WASD with the space bar for jumps, so the obstacles ahead have to be cleared without losing the ground you have on what is behind. A jump taken too early costs a stride, and a stride is not something you can spare while you are being chased.

Power-ups are scattered along the way and change what the duck can do for a while. Picking one up usually means a small detour, which is the trade the whole game runs on: the useful things are rarely on the straight line, and the straight line is the only thing keeping you ahead.

Skins unlock as you go and change nothing but the look of the duck, which is about the right amount of reward for a game this direct. Runs are short, the forest is bright, and the monster is the only thing in it that means you harm.
