Description

Pyramid Solitaire deals twenty-eight cards into seven rows, with one at the top and seven along the bottom, each row partly covering the one beneath it. Only cards with nothing resting on them can be taken, so the shape of the pyramid also determines the order in which you can dismantle it.

Pairs are removed when they add up to thirteen. Jacks count as eleven and Queens as twelve, while Kings are worth thirteen on their own, making them the only cards you remove without a partner. Aces are worth one, so the match you are looking for with a Queen is always a single Ace within reach.

A stock pile and a waste pile sit above the pyramid for when nothing on the board matches. Turning a card feels free, but it is not, because the clock in the corner keeps running and the move counter keeps climbing. Undo is there for a misread, and ten hints are set aside for when the board stops making sense.

Three difficulty levels change how forgiving the deal is, from Easy through Normal to Hard. The portrait layout puts the whole pyramid on one screen without scrolling, which suits a game where spotting two cards at the same time is the entire skill.
