Description

World Wars - Tanks is fought from the side, one tank against another, with the ground between you doing as much work as the guns. You drive with two keys and aim with two more, and everything after that is judgement.

The aiming is what makes it a game rather than a race to click. The barrel moves up and down, the shell drops over distance, and the hull you are trying to hit is small and often behind cover. A shot that lands short teaches you more than one that lands, because the correction is the skill.

Four nations are on offer and they genuinely play differently: Soviet tanks are hardy and go anywhere, German ones hit hard and accurately, American ones are balanced and mobile, British ones are heavily armoured. Picking one is picking which mistakes you can afford to make.

Finishing levels earns experience and coins, and those buy new vehicles and upgrades, so the tank you lost with is one you can bring back better. It runs on the keyboard or the mouse, entirely inside a browser tab.
