Description

Cozy Merge places numbered tiles on a board and doubles them whenever two identical ones sit together. That is the whole rule, and the target sitting at the end of it is one million, which is roughly twenty doublings away from where you start.

The board is the constraint rather than the arithmetic. Every tile you place without a match takes a space you needed, and a board of large numbers that cannot reach each other is a board that is already over even though nothing has gone wrong yet.

Three boosters exist for exactly that situation: undo the last move, shuffle everything, or double a tile of your choosing. They are generous enough to rescue a bad position and rare enough that using one carelessly is felt later.

The presentation is where the name comes from. Soft colours, unhurried music and no clock anywhere, which makes it the sort of game people leave open in a tab and return to for one more merge.
