Description

Mashup Hero starts you as a skeleton and asks you to arrive at the end of the level as something that can fight. Parts are scattered along the lane — helmets, armor plating, weapons — and everything you collect is attached to you immediately.

Obstacles do the opposite. Brick walls and traps strip pieces off, so a greedy line that collects three parts and hits one wall can leave you worse off than a clean run that took two. Deciding which pickups are worth the risk is the whole of the running section.

Everything you carry matters at the finish line, where a boss is waiting. The attack you can set off scales with the armor and weapons you brought, so a level is effectively lost during the run rather than during the fight.

Cores collected along the way go into speed and strength between levels, and the parts themselves come in enough varieties that two runs of the same stage rarely produce the same hero.
