Description

Penalty Shootout puts you on both sides of the spot. One round you are the striker choosing a corner, the next you are the keeper trying to read one, and the switch between them is what keeps a shootout from settling into a routine.

Taking a kick is a drag and a release. Direction comes from where you pull, power from how far — and the two fight each other, because the hardest shots are the ones that most easily miss the target altogether. Corners are the hardest for the keeper to reach and the least forgiving of a heavy pull.

Keeping is the harder half. You move the gloves and commit, with barely enough time to react once the ball is struck, so the save usually comes from reading the striker rather than the shot. Guess right and it looks like anticipation; guess wrong and it looks like exactly what it was.

Thirty-two national teams are available and ten levels get progressively less forgiving. Scoring runs back to back builds a multiplier, which means a shootout can swing a long way on one missed kick near the end.

Game Controls

How to Play:

  • Striker: Click or tap the ball, drag to aim, release to shoot
  • Power: The further you drag, the harder the strike — and the wider the miss
  • Keeper: Move the mouse or your finger to place the gloves
  • Read the run-up: There is not enough time to react once the ball is hit
  • Build a streak: Consecutive successes raise the score multiplier
